Hansie Cronje Match Fixing
The most famous chapter in the cricket history game and South Africa when the South African cricket captain Hansie Cronje tied relation with a bookie to manufacture the result of the test match.
In 2000, the England team were playing against South Africa at Centurion, the first three days that match was lost due to rain and the match was likely to be end up in a draw.
Hansie Cronje got involved in the match fixing act which came under scanner few months later. He resigned from his post and was handed the lifetime ban in sports. Fortunately, he died in a plane accident.
Mike Denness Vs India
In 2001 , the ICC match referee Mike Denness faced some criticism in India. This is the one of the most famous controversies in the Indian cricketing history. He banned six Indian players due to bad conduct of the Indian players in a test match against South Africa.
Sachin Tendulkar was charged with the allegations of ball tempering and was banned for one game. ICC and Mike Denness being accussed of biasness and racism against the Indian team.
ICC removed Mike Denness as referee afterthe incident and the match was called as unofficial.

Spot Fixing by Pakistani players
In 2010, the cricket world was shaken when three Pakistani cricketers – Mohammad Arif, Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt the alleged with charges of spot fixing .
All three of them accepted their charges after a string by the News of the World. They took money to deliberately bowl no balls during a test match against the mighty England side at the Oval.
All three were banned for the period pf 10 years . This was the most discussed controversies in the cricket world for the number of years.

Aluminum bat of Dennis Lillee
Australia’s Dennis Lillee once strode out to bat at the Perth against the English side in 1979 with a bat made of aluminium.
There were no rules that stated a cricket bat should be made out of wood, so Dennis Lillee felt he was well within his rights to use the bat made of aluminum.
It took almost 10 minutes of discussion for him to be convinced to use a wooden one, at which point he launched his metal bat 40 yards towards the pavilion. This was the most funniest controversies in the cricketing history.
Spot fixing in Indian Premier League
On two separate occasions, the Indian Premier League has come under intense scrutiny because of spot-fixing and betting by its players.
In 2012, five were banned after India TV aired a sting operation and implicated them for accepting money to become involved in spot-fixing.
Then, in 2013 three players from the Rajasthan Royals—Sreesanthwere arrested for charges of spot-fixing by the Delhi Police. This controversy was the dark chapter in the history of Indian cricket.
