Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has surprised everyone with his answer to a question on becoming the BCCI President. He gave such an answer that surprised everyone around him.

Actually, Sachin had reached a media conclave. There, when he was asked about becoming the next president of BCCI, Sachin took a jibe at former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.

Sachin jokingly said – ‘I do not bowl fast like Roger Binny and Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly was talking about bowling up to 140 kmph on a tour and later suffered back problems. I don’t bowl up to 140 kmph. Sachin Tendulkar sarcastically dismissed the question.’

What did Sachin say on the pitch controversy?

Recently Test series was played between India and Australia. During this series, there was a ruckus regarding the pitches. There have been controversies about pitches many times in the past as well. On this, Sachin said – In Test cricket, it should not be a debate as to how long it lasted, rather it should be how engaging it was. When you go on any tour, it is not easy to bat there. 

Story of first meeting with Harbhajan

Sachin also narrated the story of his first meeting with Harbhajan Singh. He said- I remember I saw Bhajji for the first time in Mohali in the 90s. Someone told me that this player’s bowling is very well. I said – well, call him on the nets. After every delivery in the nets, before going back to the run-up, he would come up to me and say, ‘Kya paaji? And then he would go away. 

Sachin said- When he came in the team, then he mentioned this incident. Bhajji said – Paaji, I want to talk to you. Remember when I bowled you in the nets for the first time in Mohali. I used to tell you what paaji. You used to ask me what I was trying to say and then you used to say nothing  I came to know today about your habit of adjusting your helmet every time before facing the ball, shaking your head was your habit. 

Sachin made his debut in international cricket in 1989. His first match was against Pakistan. Sachin played a total of 200 Test matches in his career and scored 15921 runs.

He scored 51 centuries in this format. At the same time, scored 18426 runs in ODIs and scored 49 centuries. Talking about overall career, Sachin scored 34357 runs in 664 matches. He is the only batsman to score 100 international centuries.
