Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell set the Melbourne Cricket Ground(MCG) on fire in his final match of this season in the Big Bash League, by scoring 154 in just 64 deliveries as he took Melbourne Stars to the sky target of 273/2 in 20 overs against Hobart Hurricanes on Wednesday.
Marcus Stoinis joined the skipper from another side in the latter part of the innings to score 75 runs off just 31 balls. Just imagine if both of the players opened the innings for their side today in a similar fashion. The amount of destruction they will cause to the opposition can give you goosebumps!
Maxwell’s sword hit 22 boundaries and 4 huge sixes in his 154 runs innings as he set the new highest score record by a batter in the Big Bash League history. Not only this he also took Melbourne Stars total to 273/2 which also became the highest team total in the history of BBL and also the third-highest team total in a T20 match in the history of the 20 overs format.

He dominated Hurricanes all round the wicket, with the shot of the night an outrageous switch-hit flick over fly-slip for six. His century was the second-fastest in BBL history, coming in 41 balls and just two shy of Craig Simmons’s 39-ball effort in 2014. In reply, Hobart never looked interested in the chase as they finished at 6 for 167 with Ben McDermott top-scoring with 55 from 33.
