Before the fourth Test match between India and Australia, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has lashed out at the selectors of Australia.

He wrote in a column for Sports Star that the Australian selectors should resign from their posts even if Australia win the Ahmedabad Test and draw the four-match series.

Sunil Gavaskar lashed out at Australian selectors –

In fact, before the fourth Test match to be played between India and Australia in Ahmedabad, former Indian cricketer and current commentator Sunil Gavaskar targeted the selectors of the Australian team and said that if they have to select such a team, they should resign.

He also said that the selectors remained the reason for the defeat of the Kangaroo team in Nagpur and Delhi. Sunil Gavaskar added,

“Former Australian cricketers are criticizing their players on different media platforms, but the Australian selectors should really be the target. How did he pick three players whom he knew would not be available for the first two Tests? It was about half the series. The Australian team management was left with the option of selecting only 11 out of 13 players.”

Furthermore, Gavaskar said,

“The Australian selectors brought in a new player, Matthew Kuhnemann, when they already had a bowler like him (Kuhnemann). If they knew that one of the spinners already in his team is not that perfect then why was they picked in the squad in the first place. This meant that the team management had to choose 11 out of 12 players. This is quite embarrassing. If there is even a little bit of sense left in the Australian selectors, then even if they win the Ahmedabad Test, they should resign from their post.”
