The ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will begin on 17th October in UAE. The final of the men’s T20 World Cup 2021 is scheduled on 14th November . The T20 World Cup will begin just a day after the IPL final. The IPL final is likely to be held on 15th of October. BCCI has decided to shift the remainder of the IPL 2021 from India to UAE. This will help the played to get acclimatized to the conditions and thus will promote more boards to send their players to the IPL thus showcasing the level of brand the tournament holds.
BCCI has officially written to the ICC about shifting of the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021 to UAE. Due to amid arise in the Covid cases in India the BCCI was planning to host the T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE. The first round of the men’s T20 World Cup will be split across two groups and will be played in to Gulf countries ,Oman and UAE.

The first round of the T20 World Cup includes 12 matches which comprises of eight teams from which top two from each group qualify for the super 12 stage. The four teams from the groups – Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Namibia, Oman and Papua New Guinea- will qualify for the super 12 stage and join the top eight ranked T20 teams. The Super 12 Stage will begin from 24th October, so probably the IPL-bound players will get the time of one more week to prepare for the tournament.
The super 12 round of the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will comprise of 30 matches. The teams will be divided into two groups of 6 each and will play at three different venues. Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah are the shortlisted venues for the super 12 stage. Then top 2 teams from each groups will qualify for the semi final stage.
The first phase of the T20 World Cup will be hosted by UAE and Oman. BCCI has assured that they will offer enough time to prepare pictures across the main ground in UAE for super 12 stage.

BCCI was posed to suspend the IPL at the Halfway stage in May due to amid arise in Covid cases.
ICC was unsure about weather India could host a global event. Travel between different venues was the main concerned for the ICC.
Earlier, BCCI shortlisted nine different venue across the subcontinent but ICC’s inspection team canceled their visit to India due to the pandemic.
Now the situation in India is recovering at higher rate but the health experts have predicted that the India will suffer from the third wave of the corona virus in later half of the year the. With the deadline expiring, BCCI was forced to make this decision to the T20 World Cup from the subcontinent to UAE. However this may prove to be blessing in disguise for BCCI as other boards would be eager to send their best players to play the IPL and thus get more match time in the most competitive tournament of the World.
