Sri Lanka Cricket has officially confirmed the schedule for the upcoming series against Team India, which is set to take place later this month. The visiting Indian team, under the leadership of new coach Gautam Gambhir, will be facing Sri Lanka in a series of three T20Is and three ODIs.
This will be India’s first assignment since their triumph in the T20 World Cup, and it is expected that most of the players from the winning squad will return to action. The series will be a great opportunity for Sri Lanka to make amends after their disappointing performance in the ODI World Cup, where they suffered a 302-run defeat against India.
The T20I series will kick off on July 26 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, with all three matches scheduled to take place at the same venue. The ODIs will then shift to Colombo, with the first match scheduled on August 1 at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
The series marks India’s first visit to Sri Lanka since 2021, when they played four T20Is and three ODIs. On that tour, India won the T20I series 3-1 before losing the ODIs 2-0.
