During the second T20I International match against Afghanistan, Shivam Dube showcased his prowess by smashing three consecutive sixes off the experienced Mohammad Nabi’s over, disrupting his line and length.
The match, held at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, saw Afghanistan posting a formidable total of 172 runs in 20 overs as India opted to ball first after winning the toss.
While chasing and entering into the 10th over, Shivam Dube faced the second delivery from Mohammad Nabi, expertly dispatching it for a massive six over long-on. Undeterred, Nabi attempted a delivery outside off-stump on the third ball, but Dube responded with a powerful slog sweep, sending the ball over deep mid-wicket for another six.
Nabi’s fourth delivery, a full toss, met a similar fate as Dube hammered it over deep mid-wicket, securing a hat-trick of sixes.
Afghanistan, in their innings, reached a competitive total with Gulbadin Naib contributing the most with a score of 57 runs off 35 balls, including 5 fours and 4 sixes. Najibullah Zadran added 23 runs off 21 balls, featuring 1 four and 2 sixes. Other notable contributions came from Mujeeb Ur Rahman (21 runs off 9 balls) and Karim Janat (20 runs off 10 balls).
In response, Arshdeep Singh emerged as the most successful bowler for India, claiming 3 wickets. Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi took 2 wickets each, while Shivam Dube also chipped in with a wicket.
