In a quick and exciting T20 match in Cardiff, (SA) South Africa beat (ENG) England by 14 runs using a special method called the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. The game was shortened because of a long rain delay. What should have been a 40-over match was cut down to just 12.5 overs in total.

England’s chase of 69 runs in five overs was tough from the start. They were only able to score 54 runs for the loss of five wickets, falling behind a required run rate of almost 14 runs per over. The SA bowlers were excellent, with Marco Jansen (2-18) and Corbin Bosch (2-20) each taking two key wickets. For England, only Jos Buttler scored well with 25 runs.

The English innings started poorly when opener Phil Salt and captain Harry Brook were both out for ducks. Jacob Bethell, who had a great game last time, only managed to score seven runs. Buttler’s quick runs gave England some hope, but Jansen got him out with the last ball of the fourth over.
