Afghanistan’s captain, Hashmatullah Shahidi, expressed his delight at the team’s performance, saying,

“This win tastes nice. The way we chased was very professional. Looking forward to the other games. We have been playing quality cricket, and the belief was there when we played the Asia Cup as well. First, it was England, and today Pakistan. We’re looking forward to the other games. We’ll try to play positive cricket and do a lot for our country. The spin bowling department was very good. Noor showed his talent. Gurbaz and Ibrahim gave us the momentum and confidence. The game was in our hands from the beginning until the end.”
