David Miller scored crucial 39 runs at the end to take South Africa closer to the 300-mark but the hosts got bowled out with a ball to spare. For India, Prasidh Krishna (3/59) took the most number of wickets, while pacers Jasprit Bumrah (2/52) and Deepak Chahar (2/53) took two wickets apiece.

India started their batting innings really by losing their skipper KL Rahul just on 9 in such a high-run chasing game but the Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli had a good partnership for the second wicket. Virat top-scored for the visitors hitting 65 runs off 84 balls before losing his wicket to Keshav Maharaj and Shikhar Dhawan scored 61 runs off 73 balls.
Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav had a small but crucial partnership after Pant got out on Golden duck. Deepak Chahar scored a fifty in the lower middle order but was unable to take the visitors to a hard-fought victory and India lost by 4 runs to South Africa. For the hosts, Lungi Ngidi and Andile Phehlukwayo took the most wickets- 3 wickets each.
India lost the ODI series 3-0, after losing 2-1 to South Africa in the Test Series.
