Adelaide Strikers derail Hurricanes, advance to face Thunder

Alex Carey and Mattew Short’s opening partnership power Adelaide Strikers to the knockouts beating Hobart Hurricanes in the Eliminator. Strikers crushed Hurricanes by 22 runs in the Eliminator at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Adelaide Strikers will face Sydney Thunders in the knockouts on Sunday.

While chasing the target of 188 in 20 overs, Hurricanes required a great start but Mattew Short removed Ben McDermott cheaply and Peter Siddle got the wicket of Mattew Wade. Jewell and Short stitched a short partnership of 39 runs but it went in vain as hurricans fell hort by 22-runs. After the dismissal of Jewell, short built a partnership with Peter Handscomb and Hurricanes finished on 166.
