Sanjeev Goenka of RPSG group has shown his keen interest in buying Lucknow franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL – 2022).

BCCI is all set to announce two new teams for the IPL-2022 . BCCI has short listed 6 venues for the two new teams for the IPL-2022.

The BCCI has confirmed that they will introduce two new franchise for the IPL-2022.  The tender the two new franchise will take place between 21 September to 5 October and the aunction will take place after the conclusion of the T20 world cup which is going yo held in UAE.

As per the sources, BCCI is planning to organize the auction for the two new teams for the IPL-2022 most probably on 17 October.  Now IPL will become the ten team tournament with the introduce of two new teams. Ahmedabad,  Lucknow, Ranchi , Indore and two more venues have been shortlisted.

Sanjeev Goenka has got the IIT document and is keen to become the owner of the Lucknow franchise for the IPL-2022 season. Sanjeev Goenka earlier owned the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise for two seasons.

Many other business tycoons have shown keen interest in becoming the owners of the two new franchise for the IPL-2022,  the rich cash league. BCCI will organize a mega auction ahead of the new season. All 10 teams will get the fair chances to build their best squad to make tournament more interesting and competitive.

BCCI is planning to adopt retention policy for the 8 teams. The teams can retain maximum upto 3 players from their respective squad. The teams can retain maximum two overseas or Indian players. The teams will not get advantage of the Right To Match card.

Adani group has also showed interest in buying the Ahmedabad franchise for the IPL-2022 season. The second leg of the 2021 edition of the IPL will played in UAE. The 2021 IPL will take place before the T20 World Cup.  The IPL 2021 has cancelled due to amid arise in Covid cases.
