Cricket’s shortest format, T20I, is a test of a team’s resilience. While high-scoring encounters are the norm, there are instances where even established, multi-format teams have collapsed spectacularly.

These matches highlight the unpredictable nature of T20I cricket, where a single dominant bowling performance can dismantle a powerful batting lineup. Here are some of the lowest totals in Men’s T20I cricket by major international teams.

5. Bangladesh (70 vs New Zealand, 2016)

In 2016 T20I World Cup, Bangladesh recorded their lowest-ever T20I score against New Zealand in Kolkata. The Bangladeshi batting lineup struggled to cope with the Kiwi bowlers, who were disciplined and exploited the conditions effectively.

This collapse led to a significant 75-run defeat, a result that stands as a stark reminder of their struggles in that tournament.

4. New Zealand (66 vs India, 2023)

New Zealand faced a humiliating defeat in Ahmedabad in 2023 when they were bowled out for just 66 runs against a dominant Indian side. Chasing a massive target of 235, the New Zealand batsmen crumbled under pressure.

Hardik Pandya led the bowling attack, taking four wickets, as India secured their largest-ever T20I victory by a huge margin of 168 runs.

3. New Zealand (60 vs Sri Lanka, 2014)

During the 2014 T20I World Cup in Chattogram, New Zealand suffered a shocking batting collapse against Sri Lanka. Chasing a modest target of 120, the Black Caps were bowled out for a paltry 60 runs.

2. India vs UAE (57, 2025)

In a truly stunning display of bowling dominance, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were bowled out for a mere 57 runs against India in an Asia Cup match in Dubai in 2025.

While the UAE is not a full-member nation, this total is notable as it is the lowest-ever score by any team against India in a T20I match. India’s bowlers were in ruthless form, ensuring a dominant win and a new record.

1. West Indies (45 vs England, 2019)

With the bowling dominance, West Indies were bundled out for just 45 runs against England in Basseterre in 2019. The West Indies batting order, a powerhouse in T20I cricket, had no answer to the English pacers.

Chris Jordan was the wrecker-in-chief, claiming four wickets in a brilliant spell. This total remains the lowest-ever T20I score by a full member nation
