In the ongoing Hundred Tournament held in England, Joe Root’s explosive batting has left everyone in awe. Despite being renowned as a Test batsman, Root showcased his prowess in international cricket by wreaking havoc with his bat against the London Spirit.

Root’s blistering innings of 52 runs was solely composed of boundaries – a display of his remarkable ability to find the fence consistently. However, despite his impressive performance, he couldn’t secure a victory for his team.

In the 16th match of the Hundred Tournament, the London Spirit went head-to-head with the Trent Rockets. The London Spirit managed to put up a score of 195 runs on the board after losing 4 wickets while batting first. Chasing a target of 196 runs, the Trent Rockets had a shaky start, losing their first two wickets for just 18 runs. It was then that Joe Root, batting at number four, took the crease.

The English batsman appeared to be in his prime during this clash, as he confidently executed shots right from the first ball. Root played an explosive innings, scoring 72 runs off just 35 deliveries. With a strike rate of 205, he hammered 10 fours and two towering sixes during his fiery knock. Notably, all 52 runs that Root scored were through boundaries.

Despite playing a remarkable innings of 72 runs, Root couldn’t lead the Trent Rockets to victory. The team needed 13 runs off the last five deliveries, but Root’s attempt to bring himself on strike in the final over proved unsuccessful. Eventually, the London Spirit emerged victorious by a narrow margin of 2 runs in a thrilling encounter.
