The Indian Domestic Season will commence from January 2022. It was for the first time that Indian Domestic Season was given a break in the history of 87 . Indian Domestic Season was cancelled due to amid arise in Covid cases in India. However, with the evolution of Bio-Bubbles and Vaccination going on a good flow, BCCI have already started to work on their plans of full-resumption to domestic Cricket with tentative dates being announced.
BCCI Announces the early kickstart to the Indian Domestic Season
In the Indian Domestic Season for senior , the Indian cricket board has decided to kick start Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy from third week of October. Vijay Hazare trophy will followed by Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in November. The board is planning to organize Ranji Trophy matches and under 25 matches in the month of January. Indian Domestic Season for women will begin from January 2022. Board is planning to hold Senior Women’s tournament and Under 25 matches in the month of January.
Joint Secretary, Jayesh George has been given responsibility to prepare the calendar for Indian Domestic Season by BCCI. The calendar was send to Jay Shah in the month July but the proposal was postponed due to IPL mega auction and hike Covid cases. For per previous schedule, board was planning to organize Ranji Trophy matches in the month of November but now Vijay Hazare trophy will hosted in that month.
The Indian Domestic Season for Under 19 boys will kick start in September with one day tournament, i.e, Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The tournament will be played in Bio-Bubble.

The state cricket boards will be provided with the new schedule for the Indian Domestic Season 2021-2022 by the next week. There will be 5 Elite groups with 6 teams each and one played group with 8 teams. The BCCI has decided to adopt old formula in this Indian Domestic Season. A bio bubble environment will be created and teams will have to check in three days prior to the respective venue.
The board has decided to conduct under 19 tournament because the under 19 cricket world cup is scheduled in the month of January 2022 in West Indies. Due to covid pandemic, the BCCi has unable to conduct under 19 matches last year.
The board has decided to make a panel of 5 members for junior team selection. The board has not said anything regarding under 16 tournament.
