Australian cricket legend, Glenn McGrath, renowned for his fast bowling prowess, has made predictions about the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, stating which four teams will secure spots in the semi-finals.
With a record of the highest wickets taken in the history of One Day International (ODI) World Cups, McGrath believes that the WC 2023 tournament will be fiercely competitive.
According to the 53-year-old McGrath, the four teams that will make it to the semi-finals are Australia, host nation India, defending champions England, and 1992 World Cup winners Pakistan. He expressed confidence in Australia’s ability to secure a place in the top four, asserting that it should come as no surprise.

In a conversation with Times of India, McGrath said,
“You won’t be surprised that I have included Australia in the top four. India will undoubtedly perform well in their home conditions. England has played some good cricket, and Pakistan is also showing good form. So, these four teams will make it to the semi-finals.”
ICC ODI World Cup 2023Â will commence on October 5th. The tournament’s opening match will be contested between the reigning champions England and runners-up New Zealand. Australia will begin their campaign against India on October 8th at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
Former England captain Eoin Morgan, who led the team to victory in the 2019 World Cup, recently revealed his favorite four teams for the semi-finals. Morgan also chose England, India, Pakistan, and Australia as the contenders but did not mention New Zealand.
