In a display of exceptional athleticism and fielding prowess, Joburg Super Kings (JSK) skipper Faf du Plessis once again showcased why he is hailed as one of the best fielders in the game. The stunning catch came during the match against MI Cape Town (MICT), where the latter had a blazing start, reaching a formidable 200-run opening partnership.

Dewald Brevis of MICT was entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining the momentum for his team. Facing a delivery from Lizaad Williams, with mid-on and mid-off positioned up in the ring, the young batter attempted to drive the ball down the ground. Despite not hitting the ball at the sweet spot, Brevis managed to get enough elevation to clear mid-off.

However, Faf du Plessis, stationed at mid-off, executed a spectacular catch, diving backward with a last-ditch effort and extending his right hand to pluck the ball out of the air.

Du Plessis’ remarkable catch not only dismissed Brevis but also served as a testament to his outstanding athleticism. The skipper was visibly pumped up and rightfully so, given the crucial breakthrough he had just orchestrated.
