The BCCI has moved the 2026 Duleep Trophy final from Bengaluru to Chennai, with the MA Chidambaram Stadium set to host the five-day title clash from September 6.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the decision was taken to allow spectators to attend the final, as government restrictions prevent the public from watching matches at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.
Final Moves to Chennai
The quarterfinals and semifinals of the Duleep Trophy will continue to be played at the BCCI CoE in Bengaluru. However, because spectators cannot be allowed into the venue, the BCCI decided to shift the final to the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The move will allow fans to watch the competition’s biggest match in person, with several leading Indian cricketers expected to feature.
All matches will be available through live streaming, while selected games, including the final, will also be broadcast on television.

Central Zone Defending Champions

The Duleep Trophy remains one of India’s most important domestic red-ball competitions, providing a platform for established players and emerging talent to compete against some of the country’s best cricketers.
With the 2026-27 domestic season beginning soon, the tournament is expected to attract significant attention, particularly with several players looking to push for India selection.
