Reliance to own a team in UAE-based T20 League, KKR and Delhi Capitals on-board too
Reliance Industry is confident of shaping another successful franchise in the UAE. Reliance Industries limited and the owners of the Mumbai Indians confirm that they will own a team in the forthcoming UAE T20 league.
“We are extremely proud to have created a global franchise in Mumbai Indians, integrated with high values and ethos and our contribution to the Indian cricket ecosystem,” Akash Ambani, owner of Mumbai Indians, said in a statement.

The inaugural edition of the league will be played in 2022 in the month of March . The KKR franchise and co owner of Delhi capitals, Kiran Kumar Gandhi have bought teams in the inaugural Emirates T20 league, as per an official involved in the planning of the league. The other potential team owners include the Glazer family, owners of Manchester United, Capri Global, who recently bid for an IPL franchise but failed, the Big Bash League’s Sydney Sixers.
Embuldeniya leads Sri Lanka to 187-run win over West Indies
