A living example of this was seen in the recently held IPL 2023 auction. In the auction, the franchise has spent a lot of money on Bengal fast bowler Mukesh Kumar. But there was a time when Mukesh was going through a very difficult phase, yet he did not give up. Let us know about Mukesh’s journey from floor to floor through this article.

Delhi Capitals bought Mukesh Kumar for Rs 5.50 crore –

In fact, a mini auction (IPL 2023 Auction) was organized in Kochi on 23 December for the 16th season of the Indian Premier League. In this auction, there was a competition between the franchises to buy fast bowler Mukesh Kumar, who performed brilliantly in domestic cricket.

Let us tell you that Mukesh had landed in this auction with a base price of 20 lakhs, but the franchisees rained money to buy him and finally Delhi Capitals joined him by paying an amount of Rs 5.50 crores. 

Let us also tell you that Mukesh’s last IPL season was successful. He was earlier a part of Chennai Super Kings. Mukesh was the second costliest domestic fast bowler in the mini-auction held on Friday. Shivam Mavi got more money than him. Gujarat Titans bought Shivam for Rs 6 crore.

Let us inform you that Mukesh Kumar is a resident of Kakarkund, a small village in Gopalganj district, about 150 km from Patna, the capital of Bihar. Mukesh had a love for sports since childhood. But his father used to tell him to study and make a career in the same.

Mukesh has seen poverty from close quarters in his life, where poverty was so severe that his father went to Kolkata and started driving an auto. On the other hand, Mukesh used to play cricket in Gopalganj.

On the basis of his talent, Mukesh also joined Bihar’s Under-19 team, later his father called him to Kolkata for a job. But Mukesh did not change his mind and continued playing for Kolkata. Mukesh tried three times to join the army and failed all the three times.

Let us tell you that Mukesh Kumar impressed everyone by performing brilliantly in domestic cricket. Mukesh performed brilliantly for Bengal in Ranji matches. After which he was included in the Indian-A team. Not only this, he was included in Team India for the series against South Africa this year.

However, Mukesh has not got a chance to debut in international cricket. Mukesh has taken 25 wickets in 23 T20I matches at an economy of 7.20 and an average of 23.68. His best performance in this format has been three wickets for 12 runs.
