Aramco, the Saudi Arabian national oil company, has solidified its commitment to sports sponsorship by renewing its partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for another four years. This extension follows Aramco’s recent extension with FIFA, showcasing its increasing involvement in global sports.

As a premier partner of the ICC, this company will continue to support both men’s and women’s cricket events, including senior games and under-19 tournaments, until the end of 2027. This partnership will cover major events such as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and the women’s T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later this year.

Geoff Allardice, Chief Executive of the ICC, expressed delight in extending the relationship with Aramco, emphasizing the strong collaboration between the two entities since 2022. The focus of the renewed partnership will be to engage a younger audience of cricket enthusiasts, building on the progress made during the initial 18 months of the first deal.

This companies commitment to sports marketing is evident not only through its partnership with the ICC but also as FIFA’s first major worldwide energy partner for the upcoming FIFA World Cup tournaments. Khalid A. Al-Zamil, Aramco Vice President of Public Affairs, expressed excitement about the partnership extension, highlighting cricket’s ability to unite people globally, mirroring oil companies commitment to collaboration and excellence. Aramco plans to continue supporting the growth of cricket through various initiatives, including player awards and performance recognition.
