The qualifiers of the T20I World Cup have started. However, the Super-12 matches will be played from Saturday. Before this, a bad news is coming out for the England team.
Actually fast bowler Reece Topley has been ruled out of the World Cup due to injury. Although it was earlier said that he would not play the first match against Afghanistan, he has been ruled out of the entire tournament after his injury was monitored.
The injury came before the match against Pakistan -:
Reece Topley was injured while fielding before the warm-up match against Pakistan, after which he was unable to bowl in the warm-up game.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is yet to announce Topley’s replacement, but it is said that either Richard Gleeson or Tymal Mills could join the team in his place.
Big blow to England with Topley -:
Talking about the T20I format, Reece Topley has shown excellent bowling in recent times. This was his second T20I World Cup.
Earlier, he participated in the 2016 T20 World Cup, but after so many years he was again included in the T20I World Cup team. He has taken 17 wickets since his return in 2022. But the injury ruined his dream of playing the second T20I World Cup.
