The Tokyo Olympics 2020 will kick start from 23rd July ,2021 and will and on 8 August 2021. The Tokyo Olympics 2020 was postponed due to to the rise in covid-19 pandemic. The Tokyo Olympics will be held behind closed doors. This was the first time that Olympic games were postponed.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be the second time that Japan will host an Olympic event . During the Tokyo Olympics 1964, Japan became the first Asian country to host Olympic games.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympic games will include some new games – 3 × 3 basketball ,madison cycling and freestyle BMX, etc. Sports such as Karate, sport climbing ,surfing and skateboarding will make their debut in Tokyo Olympics 2020. Tokyo Olympics 2020 will also feature the return of softball and baseball for the first time after 2008.
The International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach decided to to increase the number of female participants in the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 and make it more youthful and urban.
Tokyo Olympic Games will include 339 events in 33 different Sports in total of 50 disciplines. The five new sports have been introduced in the Tokyo Olympics and 15 new ones within existing sports are also planned.

The Indian contingent for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 will feature 115 athletes. In the Rio Olympics 2016 117 Indian athletes qualified for the Olympic games but could not impress as compared to London Olympic games. Just before the Tokyo Olympics 2022 India athletes have topped the world ranking charts which provides many hopes for medals.
