The Indian cricket team’s historic win in the T20 World Cup has brought in a windfall of prize money for the squad and support staff. As announced by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah on June 30, the winning squad will receive a prize money of Rs 125 crore. The detailed breakdown of the prize money has now been reported, and it’s a significant sum that will be shared among the players, coaching staff, and support staff.

The 15 cricketers who were part of the winning squad will each receive a sum of Rs 5 crore. This includes players who played at least one match in the tournament as well as those who warmed the benches throughout the tournament.

The four players who acted as travelling reserves – Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed – will receive Rs 1 crore each.

Coach Rahul Dravid, who led the team to victory, will also receive a sum of Rs 2.5 crore includes coaching staff, comprising Vikram Rathour, T Dilip, and Paras Mhambrey, will share Rs 7.5 crore among themselves. Each member of the backroom staff, including physiotherapists, throwdown specialists, masseurs, and strength and conditioning coach, will receive Rs 2 crore.

The five-member selection committee headed by Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar will also benefit from the prize money, with each member receiving Rs 1 crore. In addition to this prize money, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced a cash reward of Rs 11 crore for the Indian cricket team.
