The England men’s Under-19 squad has announced a new addition to their team for their upcoming three-match youth ODI series against Sri Lanka. Rocky Flintoff, the 16-year-old son of former England allrounder Andrew Flintoff, has been called up to join the squad. This impressive young talent has already made a name for himself in the cricketing world, having played for Lancashire 2nd XI this season.
Rocky Flintoff’s impressive debut came just two days after his 16th birthday, and he has since gone on to score a maiden century against Warwickshire 2nd XI at Edgbaston in April. Rocky Flintoff’s father, Andrew, is currently part of the England coaching staff for the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean.

The England U19 squad has a strong family connection, with several players having relatives who have represented their country at the international level. The squad will be captained by Luc Benkenstein, the son of former South Africa batter and current Lancashire head coach Dale Benkenstein.
Few players also have some family connections like Rocky Flintoff :
Other notable family connections include offspinner Farhan Ahmed, who is the younger brother of England international Rehan Ahmed. Farhan has recently signed his first professional contract with Nottinghamshire. Durham wicketkeeper Haydon Mustard, whose father Phil earned 12 white-ball caps with England, is also part of the squad.
Somerset’s Thomas Rew, the younger brother of highly touted James Rew, has also been selected to join the squad. The 16-man squad includes nine players who represented England in the U19 World Cup earlier this year in South Africa, where they ultimately placed sixth overall.
