The Cricket West Indies (CWI) has responded swiftly, assuring stakeholders of their commitment to implementing comprehensive safety measures to mitigate any potential risks to the event.
Johnny Grave, the CEO of CWI, emphasized their close collaboration with local authorities and continuous monitoring of global security landscapes to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the tournament. Grave reiterated that the safety and security of all participants and attendees remain the organization’s top priority.

The terror threat in T20 WC, reportedly originating from the Pro-Islamic State (Daesh) media outlet ‘Nashir Pakistan,’ has prompted Caribbean authorities to take proactive measures.
Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Keith Rowley has confirmed collaboration between Caricom and security agencies to address the threat effectively. Additionally, regional security officials in Barbados are actively monitoring potential risks to the ICC event.
Despite these concerns, the tournament is set to take place across multiple locations in the West Indies, including Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago.
