Ever since the IPL was paused for a few days this year, overseas players have been constantly coming and going. Teams are looking for replacements, and today RCB announced one such replacement before moving ahead of the IPL 2025 playoffs. RCB has announced the signing of Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as a replacement for Lungisani Ngidi. The 29-year-old Zimbabwean pacer will bolster RCB’s bowling attack as they gear up for crucial upcoming matches.
Muzarabani, who has showcased his talent across international cricket formats, has played 70 T20 Internationals, claiming 78 wickets. He has also featured in 12 Tests and 55 ODIs, making him a versatile asset for any team.
Although he has yet to play an IPL game, Muzarabani has been involved as a net bowler for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the past and shares a connection with RCB’s head coach Andy Flower, having worked together at LSG, Multan Sultans in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and Gulf Giants in the ILT20.

The Zimbabwean cricketer’s recent Test performances have been impressive, with 26 wickets in his last four matches, including a match-winning nine-wicket haul in Zimbabwe’s victory over Bangladesh in April. His experience and fiery pace are expected to add depth to RCB’s bowling unit, especially during the high-stakes playoff stage.
Muzarabani will be available for selection from May 26, just ahead of RCB’s final league game against Lucknow Super Giants on May 27. He will join the team at an affordable price of INR 75 Lakh. Despite being new to the IPL, his international reputation as a fiery Zimbabwe pacer has made him a promising addition.
