Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf is set to embark on a significant journey to India to witness the much-anticipated ICC ODI World Cup 2023 clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The PCB officially confirmed this exciting development in a statement released on Wednesday.
The decision to travel to India was made by Ashraf following the positive news that media personnel from Pakistan were granted the green light to submit their passports for obtaining Indian visas, allowing them to cover the ICC World Cup 2023.
Ashraf expressed his satisfaction with the progress made regarding visa issuance, stating, “I have delayed my travel to India, and I am traveling tomorrow after receiving confirmation that Pakistan’s journalists have been asked to submit their passports to obtain visas to cover the mega event. I am happy that my conversation with the foreign office helped in achieving a positive development regarding the visa delay.”
In addition to his role as PCB Chairman, Ashraf also serves as a staunch supporter of the national team. He lauded the players’ impressive performance in the World Cup, with Pakistan securing victories in both of their matches. He emphasized the unity of the PCB management committee and the entire nation behind the team for a successful campaign in the ongoing World Cup.
Zaka Ashraf’s visit to India carries a motivational message for the players. He expressed his intentions, stating, “I am traveling to India to motivate the team, and my message to them before the India contest will be to play fearlessly as they have been playing throughout the event.”
With a critical match on the horizon, Zaka Ashraf’s presence and words of encouragement are set to inspire the Pakistani team as they continue their journey in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
