The highly anticipated third season of the Women’s Premier League 2025 (WPL 2025) is all set to commence on Friday, February 14, with the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru facing off against the Gujarat Giants. Over the next several weeks, five teams will battle it out in a 20-match group-stage event, culminating in a thrilling knockout phase featuring two matches, including the final on Saturday, March 15.
The season WPL will feature five powerhouse teams: Gujarat Giants, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz. Each team will play a round-robin format, with the top-placed team qualifying directly for the final and the second- and third-placed teams facing off in an eliminator match to decide the second finalist.
The WPL 2025 format is as follows:
- Round-robin stage: Each team will play two games against each of the other teams.
- Knockout matches: The top-placed team will qualify directly for the final, while the second- and third-placed teams will play an eliminator match to determine the second finalist.
- In case of an abandoned match, both teams will share one point each.
