His phenomenal effort propelled India A to a giant total of 297/4 in their 20 overs, registering the joint-fifth highest team total in the history of men’s T20I cricket.

This 32-ball feat places Vaibhav Suryavanshi in elite company, equalling Rishabh Pant’s record. Pant had also scored a 32-ball hundred for Delhi against Himachal Pradesh in the 2018 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The all-time record for the fastest T20I century by an Indian is jointly held by Abhishek Sharma and Urvil Patel, who both smashed 28-ball tons during the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali T20I Trophy.

This is not the first time the young sensation has broken records. Suryavanshi, who made his IPL debut last season, already holds the record for the second-fastest century in the league’s history (a 35-ball ton for Rajasthan Royals).

He is also the youngest T20I centurion in IPL history, having achieved the feat at just 14 years and 32 days, surpassing the previous record held by Vijay Zol (18 years and 118 days).
