The countdown to the final of the World Test Championship has begun. From June 7, Team India will face Australia in the title match at The Oval. Cheteshwar Pujara will have a huge responsibility to sail the Indian team against the Kangaroo team in the WTC final.
Pujara has been present in England for a long time and has been showing off his bat in the County Championship. This is the reason why former India captain Sunil Gavaskar believes that Pujara’s advice can be very useful for the Indian team.
Speaking to Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar said, “The fact is Pujara has been there for a long time and must have seen how the pitch at The Oval is behaving. Even if he hasn’t played at The Oval And lived in Sussex, but Sussex is not far from London.”
Further he added, “In such a situation, he must have kept an eye on what is happening and the information given by him will prove to be very useful, especially for the batting unit. At the same time, Pujara’s advice Could be very useful for the captain as well.”

Sunil Gavaskar has also given important advice to Indian batsmen coming after playing in IPL 2023. Gavaskar says that Indian batsmen will have to adjust their bat speed and try to play the ball as late as possible. He said, “I think he will definitely look at his bat speed. In T20I cricket, bat speed is much faster than in Test. Whereas, in Test, you have to control the bat speed a lot.”
Gavaskar said that Indian batsmen will have to try to play the ball late in English conditions. He said, “In English conditions, he will have to try to play the ball as late as possible so that the swing has done its job.”
