The International Cricket Council [ICC] Annual Conference in Singapore brought significant developments for the global cricket community. Here are the key outcomes and takeaways from this important event:

1. Support for Displaced Women Cricketers of Afghan Descent:

The International Cricket Council, in collaboration with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), and Cricket Australia (CA), announced progress on initiatives aimed at supporting displaced women cricketers from Afghanistan.

Led by International Cricket Council Deputy Chair Imran Khwaja, the programme focuses on providing structured support through high-performance training, domestic playing opportunities, and participation in major ICC global events such as the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

2. Governance Reforms for USA Cricket:

The International Cricket Council reaffirmed its stance on governance reforms in USA Cricket, emphasizing that the organization remains on notice.

USA Cricket has been tasked with undertaking comprehensive reforms, including conducting transparent elections within three months. The International Cricket Council Board maintains the authority to take further actions if necessary.

3. Hosting Rights for ICC World Test Championship Finals:

The International Cricket Council confirmed that the England and Wales Cricket Board will host the Finals of the ICC World Test Championship in 2027, 2029, and 2031, reflecting their strong track record in hosting major ICC events.

4. New Members and Representation:

Two new associate members, Timor-Leste Cricket Federation and Zambia Cricket Union, joined the International Cricket Council family, increasing total membership to 110. Additionally, representatives from France, Hong Kong, and Canada—Gurumurthy Palani, Anuraag Bhatnagar, and Gurdeep Klair—were elected to the International Cricket Council Chief Executives’ Committee (CEC).

5. Recognition and Farewells:

Formal acknowledgments were made to outgoing ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice and departing CEC members, recognizing their contributions to global cricket.

6. Annual Report and Membership Growth:

The conference saw the formal adoption of the International Cricket Council Group’s annual report, audited accounts for 2024, and the recognition of new members, highlighting the organization’s ongoing growth and transparency.
