Taking a leaf out of the IPL’s book, Uttar Pradesh is all set to witness the commencement of its own T20I cricket league. The UP T20I League, modeled after the Indian Premier League, is scheduled to begin on August 30th and will run until September 16th.
As a part of the buildup to this tournament, a ceremony was organized on Sunday, August 20th, during which the trophy, jerseys, and anthem of the participating teams were unveiled.
The league comprises six teams: Gorakhpur Lions, Kanpur Superstars, Kashi Rudra, Lucknow Falcons, Meerut Mavericks, and Noida Super Kings. To add more excitement, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has been appointed as the brand ambassador for the UP T20I League.

The tournament, set to run from August 30th to September 16th, had its trophy, team jerseys, and anthem unveiled. The chief guest at the event was Rajiv Shukla, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and a member of the Rajya Sabha. Shukla extended his best wishes to all the participating teams for a successful performance in the league.
During the occasion, Shukla emphasized that there is no dearth of cricketing talent in Uttar Pradesh. The UP T20I League will provide a platform for aspiring players to shine and potentially become future stars.
