Team India is facing a lot of criticism after the defeat against New Zealand in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and now with Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to take strict actions to handle the broken rhythm. To address this issue, BCCI has made a strategic decision by selecting Sitanshu Kotak as the next Batting Coach for Team India, who will work under Gautam Gambhir. 

Sitanshu Kotak has an illustrious cricketing career, having played for Saurashtra, where he served as the captain of the team. In the first-class cricket, he scored 8061 runs in 130 matches and 211 innings from Saurashtra with a remarkable average of 41.76, including 15 centuries and 55 half-centuries.

His impressive performance in list A cricket showcases his exceptional batting skills with an average of 42.23 in 89 matches. Kotak was also the captain of Saurashtra until 2013, and his proximity to Team India’s selection was a result of his exceptional cricketing skills.

With his vast experience, Sitanshu Kotak has been associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for a long time, and he has also worked closely with cricket legends like Rahul Dravid.

In 2023, when Team India toured Ireland, Dravid and the domestic cricket head coach VVS Laxman were unavailable, so Sitanshu Kotak led the Indian Team as head coach. With his extensive experience, he is expected to bring significant quality coaching to the Indian team, thereby creating a positive and encouraging environment for the players in the dressing room.
