Pakistan cricket team faced a disappointing series in Bangladesh, losing twice in just three days and surrendering the T20I series on their away tour. The recent defeats have raised serious questions about the current form and strategy of the Pakistan team, with many wondering if the team is struggling to find its footing on foreign soil.

Leading up to the series, Pakistan made several changes by resting key senior players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi. In their place, a relatively inexperienced squad under the guidance of Salman Agha was sent to Bangladesh. The results, however, did not favor the visitors.

Pakistan suffered a heavy 7-wicket loss in the first match, where they managed only 110 runs in 19.3 overs, and Bangladesh chased down the target comfortably in 15.3 overs. Parvez Hossain Emon’s 56 runs, including five sixes and three fours, and Hridoy’s vital 36 played crucial roles in Bangladesh’s victory.

The second T20I saw Pak’s batting collapse, despite a promising start in the bowling department where they restricted Bangladesh to 133 runs. However, the Pakistani batters faltered in the chase, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Only Faheem Ashraf’s innings of nearly 51 runs kept the team’s hopes alive, but ultimately, Pak team fell short by 8 runs, making it two consecutive losses in the series.

This series defeat casts a shadow over Pakistan’s coaching staff and team selection committee, highlighting concerns about the team’s current form and preparedness against teams like Bangladesh.

With the final match scheduled for July 24, Pak team will aim to take some pride, even if a series victory seems elusive. The recent performances suggest a need for introspection and strategic overhaul to restore Pakistan’s cricketing stature, especially in away conditions.
