Indian batter Virat Kohli has finally arrived in New York, five days after the rest of the team, ahead of the T20 World Cup. After a long and tiring 16-hour flight, Kohli is expected to take some rest before joining the team’s training sessions.
Kohli’s participation in the warm-up game against Bangladesh on Saturday is still uncertain, as it will depend on how he feels and whether he is willing to have a hit against the Bangladesh side. Despite his recent arrival, the Indian team management has assured that he will still get three quality net sessions before the first game against Ireland on June 5.
The team’s support staff held an optional training session on Friday morning, which was attended by Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, and Mohammed Siraj. The team management and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have made exceptions for Kohli in the past, allowing him to link up with the national team late.

Kohli has taken breaks before big tournaments many time :-
Kohli has a history of taking breaks before important tournaments, having missed the entire England Test series at home in February-March for the birth of his second child. He also skipped the South Africa Test series when he arrived in the country only to leave for the UK for personal reasons before rejoining the squad.
Despite his recent break, Kohli is considered to be one of the most experienced players in the team and his routines won’t be tinkered with by the team management. The legend knows his stuff, and his absence from three training sessions so far is unlikely to affect his performance in the upcoming tournament.
