When the Indian cricket team’s squad for the upcoming series against England and the Champions Trophy was announced, several players were expected to be a part of the team. However, three players who missed the cut were Karun Nair, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal. Let’s take a look on the reasons behind their non-inclusion in the team.

Karun Nair, who has been in top form, was expected to be a part of the team. However, according to Ajit Agarkar, his previous performance was not as attacking and impressive as it is currently. If he continues to play at this level, he will undoubtedly get the recognition he deserves.

Sanju Samson, on the other hand, has been performing well in T20 format, scoring 2-3 half-centuries in recent series. However, the Champions Trophy will be played in a 50-over ODI format, which is significantly different from T20 cricket.

Moreover, Samson did not participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a key domestic tournament that provides selectors with valuable evidence of a player’s abilities. Consequently, he has had to bear the consequences of his inaction.

Similarly, Yuzvendra Chahal missed out on selection because he did not participate in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The selectors consider performance in domestic tournaments as an essential factor in selecting players for the national team.

The non-selection of Karun Nair, Sanju Samson, and Yuzvendra Chahal can be attributed to a combination of factors, including their past performances, their performance in domestic tournaments, and their lack of participation in crucial tournaments like the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
