As a token of tribute to a legendary career, James Anderson, England’s all-time leading wicket-taker, was officially conferred with his knighthood during a special ceremony at Windsor Castle. The investiture was carried out by Princess Anne, honouring the pace bowler for his immense services to cricket.
The 43-year-old cricketing icon, universally known as “Jimmy,” was named in former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s resignation honours list this past April. This recognition follows the conclusion of his remarkable 21-year international career, which formally ended at Lord’s in July 2024 after 188 Test matches.

James Anderson finished his Test journey with an astonishing 704 wickets, setting a global record for a pace bowler and ranking him third overall, behind only spin giants Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Shane Warne (708). He also holds the England record for ODI wickets, having taken 269 before playing his final white-ball international match in 2015.

Proving his adaptability and enduring skill, he made an unexpected and successful return to T20I cricket after a decade-long absence, playing a vital role in leading his club to Finals Day at Edgbaston.
His commitment to the game was further demonstrated by earning a wildcard contract with the Manchester Originals in the Hundred competition.
