In a big update from the DY Patil tournament in Mumbai where the three mainstays of Indian team Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya are featuring for Reliance One in order to prove their fitness and make a comeback to the national side and also gear up for the IPL Season. The trio are under the close watch of the national selectors and are all set to make a comeback to the Indian Team against South Africa.
Over the last 3 years the trio has been the mainstay of the Indian limited overs setup and the integeral part of the India’s recent ODI success around the World. Hardik Pandya who had a back surgery featured for Reliance One and walked it at No. 4, scoring 38 Runs of 25 Balls including 4 towering sixes. Dhawan on the other hand who is coming back from Sports Hernia just scored only 14 Runs in his comeback match but look fit and in grove to play. Bhuvneshwar Kumar impressed with his economical bowling, giving only 14 Runs in 3 Overs. The way trio participated gave the clear statement that all three have completed their rehabilitation successfully and are match fit.
The head of the selection committee MSK Prasad had been asked to keep a closer watch on the trio ahead of the team selection for the South Africa ODIs. Apart from Prasad, India A and Under-19 coach Paras Mhambrey, National Cricket Academy (NCA) physio Ashish Kaushik are also keeping the close watch on the trio.
Well it will be great sign of relief for Virat Kohli as he might have missed them alot during the 3-0 drubbing against New Zealand in their backyard as the team missed the balance and match winners at cruicial moments and thus loosing the way out.
