The ICC Player of the Month award is a special prize for top players in international cricket. Since it began, many Indian cricketers have won it. The award shows the hard work and great performances that help the Indian team succeed.

Here are the Indian players who have won this award and why they earned it—

Shubman Gill (4 Times)

Shubman Gill has won this award more than any other Indian male cricketer. He won in January 2023 after scoring a record-breaking double century in an ODI match. He won again in September 2023 for scoring a lot of runs in ODIs before the World Cup.

He also won in February and July 2025 for his amazing Test cricket, including two double centuries and leading the team against England.

Jasprit Bumrah (2 Times)

Jasprit Bumrah won his awards for his fantastic bowling. His first win was in December 2024 for his great performance in Australia, where he took 22 wickets in just three Test matches. His second award was for another strong bowling performance.

Shreyas Iyer (2 Times)

Shreyas Iyer won his two ICC awards for his important batting. He won in March 2025 for being the top run-scorer in the Champions Trophy, where he scored a crucial 79 against New Zealand to help India win.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant was the first player to win the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award in January 2021. He won it for his match-winning innings in Australia, where he saved one Test with a 97 and helped India win the series with an unbeaten 89.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin won in February 2021 for being great with both the bat and ball against England. He took 32 wickets and scored a century in the four-match Test series, which was key to India’s win.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar won in March 2021 for his excellent bowling against England. He was the best bowler on both sides, taking 6 wickets in ODIs and 4 in T20Is while giving away very few runs.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli won the ICC award in October 2022 for his stunning performance in the T20I World Cup. His amazing, unbeaten 82 against Pakistan is considered one of the best T20I innings ever.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal won in February 2024 for his great series against England. He scored 560 runs, including two double centuries, to help India win the series.

Mohammed Siraj

Mohammed Siraj won in August 2025 for his strong performance in the final Test against England. His disciplined bowling, which included taking five wickets in one innings, helped India tie the series.
