Cameron Green is set to make a strong comeback as he gears up for county cricket and aims for selection in the highly anticipated World Test Championship Final. After undergoing major back surgery last October, Cameron Green expressed relief and optimism about his recovery during his first press conference since the procedure, held in Perth.
The talented all-rounder, 25, revealed that he is eager to contribute to the Australian team, even if it means taking on a batting-only role for the final.
As Cameron Green prepares to play for Gloucestershire next week, he highlighted the surgery’s positive impact on his physical condition. “The surgery has been incredible,” he stated, noting that his rehabilitation process has been smooth. “I was off my legs for about two weeks, and after that, I’ve been doing gym work and batting for the last month. It’s been pretty seamless.”

With his focus set on longevity in his career, Green believes the surgery was crucial for his future. “I hope it’s the last of it,” he added, underscoring his desire to play cricket for many years to come.
Green is drawing inspiration from fellow cricketers Jason Behrendorff and Ben Dwarshuis, who have successfully returned to the game after similar surgeries. They have reassured him that he can look forward to a bright future post-recovery. However, he confirmed he will not be bowling in competitive matches until the next Sheffield Shield season in October.
