Peshawar Zalmi suffered their second defeat in Pakistan Super League 8 on Thursday. Peshawar suffered an 8-wicket defeat at the hands of Allahabad United in the match played at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Babar Azam’s half-century went in vain as Peshawar chased down the target of 157 with ease. Zalmi achieved the target within 15 overs.
Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a blistering 62 off just 31 balls studded with seven fours and four sixes to give Zalmi an easy win. This was Peshawar Zalmi’s second win in the tournament. Babar Azam’s innings went in vain, but he was seen enjoying his innings.
Babar Azam played a shot to take a single while facing Hasan Ali and then he decided to have fun with his Pakistan teammate Hasan Ali. Hasan Ali was turning from his run up, when Babar Azam raised his bat in the air while running towards him.
Ali felt that Babar Azam would hit him with the bat, so he ran away to defend himself. The funny moment was caught on camera and the video is going viral on social media.

Babar Azam told in the press conference after the match what he had talked about with Hasan Ali. Babar said, ‘I was not saying much to Hasan Ali. I was just trying to compete with him because he has been trying since the time he came back. He was not in his best form, but the way he bowled in this match, he seems to be finding his rhythm. I had some conversation with him. I wanted to put him under pressure, but I don’t think it worked.’
Ali was in full of confidence –
Hasan Ali, on the other hand, was more than happy to contribute for his team. He said, ‘I believed in myself and tried hard to come back. The first over didn’t go as planned, but I came back brilliantly. Thanks to the team management who always supported me and told me that I am a lion. I would also like to thank my wife who believed in me and encouraged me to do better. When I got the ball in the second spell, the credit goes to Shadab Khan, who bowled me with confidence despite a poor first over.’
Babar Azam lost his temper –
There was a moment in the match when Babar Azam lost his temper and angrily threw the bat on the ground. Babar was upset that he could only take one run off the last ball of the last over of the innings bowled by Rumman Raees. The ball hit the bottom of his bat and went in the direction of mid-wicket and he could only take a single.

Babar Azam said after losing the match, ‘We started well and followed our plans till then. But then we lost one wicket after another. Hasan Ali bowled well and we lost our momentum. We tried to return, but it was too late.
We didn’t even have any partnership, 180-200 runs could have been scored on this pitch. We started well, but didn’t finish well. We need to work in this area.
