England and Australia will face off in the third Test of the Ashes series 2023, which will be held at Headingley Cricket Ground. The host team, England, has made three significant changes to their playing eleven. Apart from the injured player Ollie Pope, Josh Tongue and James Anderson’s names are also not included.

England Cricket announced their playing eleven for the third Test through their official Twitter account. Moeen Ali, fast bowler Mark Wood, and Chris Woakes have been included in the English team in place of Ollie Pope, Josh Tongue, and James Anderson, respectively.

It is worth mentioning that this series has been a nightmare for English star bowler James Anderson so far. In the first two matches of the Ashes 2023, Anderson could only manage to take three wickets.

Similarly, young pace bowler Josh Tongue, who claimed five wickets in the Lord’s Test, has also been left out of the playing eleven. Vice-captain Ollie Pope suffered an injury during the second Test and is struggling with a shoulder issue, which has ruled him out of the entire series.
