Veteran fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has reprimanded Pakistan captain Babar Azam for his communication style. Akhtar said that Babar Azam is not a big brand because he cannot speak English.

Shoaib Akhtar, 47, said that playing cricket is one thing and handling the media is another. If Babar Azam will not be able to speak, then he will not be able to express himself. In a conversation with a local Pakistani channel, Akhtar talked about the communication style of Pakistani players, in which Babar Azam’s name was included.

What did Shoaib Akhtar say?

Akhtar, who holds the record for bowling the fastest ball in international cricket, said, ‘Now you see. There is no character in the team. No way to talk. When he comes to the presentation, he feels so bad. How difficult is it to learn and speak English? Cricket is one thing and handling the media is another. If you cannot speak, then I am sorry, but you will never be able to express yourself on TV.’

Akhtar further said, ‘I would like to say openly that Babar Azam should be the biggest brand in Pakistan, but why is he not able to become? Because he cannot speak English.’ According to Akhtar, former legends Wasim Akram and Shahid Afridi are getting preference over current cricketers in the advertising world because of their communication style.
