The Goenka group owned Lucknow franchise picked India Vice-captain KL Rahul, Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, and talented uncapped leg spinner, Ravi Bishnoi from the pool of released player for the upcoming season of the IPL. This comes a day after Ahmedabad-based franchise finalized their three picks for Indian Premier League.
KL Rahul will be leading the side in the upcoming season of the IPL as per the reports. KL Rahul has been drafted for 15 crores by the Lucknow team while Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi were picked up for 11 crores and 4 crores respectively as reported by ESPNcricinfo. Lucknow franchise has spend 30 crores before the Mega-auction. They have 60 crore left in their purse for the mega-auction.
KL Rahul was released by the Punjab Kings before the mega-auctions and now has been drafted by the Lucknow team, who was the captain of the side for the last two seasons of the IPL. He has been the most consistent player in the league for last few seasons of the cash-rich legaue.
KL Rahul made his IPL debut in 2014 for Sunrisers Hyderabad . Rahul was then bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2016 and was picked up by Punjab for 11 crores at IPL 2018 auction.

Star Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has also been picked by the franchise ahead of the auction. Marcus Stoinis started his IPL career with the Delhi franchise in 2015 and then he was also part of the Punjab franchise and Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Lucknow franchise will be his 4th IPL team. The CVC based  Ahmedabad franchise had also picked their three players – Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill.
