Let’s talking sometime good about the Former Head Coach of Indian Cricket Team and his life beyond what has been shown in the Memes.

“Life is not so much what you accomplish as what you overcome”, said Ravi Shastri.  Under the guidance of Ravi Shastri,  the Indian team became  the one of the best teams in the history of game in the last five years.

When you look at Ravi Shastri’s journey with team India as head coach , the first realisation is that there was more good than bad. In last 5 years under Ravi Shastri,  India won 24 out 42 test games (57% wins), win percentage of 67 in ODIs and 65% wins across all formats.

“It’s bantar all the way ,they do it ti have fun at my expense.  I will take a laugh yaar ,have a drink in my name. Kya Fark padta hai. Main nimbu pani piyunga aur I will have milk and honey you have a drink enjoy karo na at my expense”,  Ravi Shastri on memes made on him.

Ravi Shastri
Ravi Shastri was bold in his statements, never backed away from taking responsibilities

Ravi Shastri gave Indian bowlers a clear plan you know what they are going to do on the field. Youngsters like Mohammed Siraj did not have to work think on dream balls on their own, all they had to do just to follow the plans made by the Ravi Shastri. Even bowler like Jaspreet bumrah has benefited from Ravi Shastri is impact in the team. When the injuries troubled Bumrah then Ravi Shastri call him personally to motivate him during hard times. Once there was a match in Kolkata and Kuldeep Yadav was having a trouble in the back and was low in moral. Then Ravi Shastri saw him and said,

“Kuldeep, come here! Tu match jeetayega aaj. Pull the collar up and go to the field thinking how we are going to do it”. Eventually ,Kuldeep Yadav got the hattrick in that match. This kind of impact Ravi Shastri was having in the team.

India’s fast bowling quality and their fitness has grown in Ravi Shastri tenure as Head coach. Ravi Shastri had that confidence to go with the five bowlers. He had that courage to take hard decisions. You always wanted his prayers to be ruthless on the field but friendly off the field.

MS Dhoni was quitting ,a new captain was rising and other seniors in the team had to be handled, tough calls on who would be in the bowling line up had to be taken, rootlessness in the selection of the team was required and more importantly the team had to believe that winning overseas is a great ambition to have.

” there are a lot of players on this team of play all 3 formats of the game.  In the last 24 months they have been home for 25 days. I do not care who you are ,if your name is Bradman ,if you are in a bubble as well your average will come down because you are human”, Ravi Shastri on life in the bio bubble.
