The media rights auction for the next five seasons (2023 to 2027) of IPL is to be held on June 12 (Sunday). Through this, BCCI is expected to earn thousands of crores of rupees. IPL is a popular league and the more the number of people watching it, the longer the list of those who invest money. According to the news so far about the media rights auction to be held on Sunday, Jeff Bezos’s company Amazon pulled out itself from bidding.
There has been no official statement from Amazon regarding this. But with this decision, Reliance’s claim to get IPL media rights increases further.
When is the IPL Media Rights E-Auction?
The auction will begin on Sunday, June 12 at 11 am in Mumbai and will continue till the last bidding is done. Just like the information is given by the board after the players’ bid, similarly the name of the company getting the rights of media rights will also be announced after this. It will be valid for the next 5 seasons of IPL (2023 to 2027). According to one estimate, BCCI can get 50 to 60 thousand crore rupees from IPL media rights this year.
