The Indian national cricket team physio Nitin Patel is likely to get the transfer to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru in order to look after the spate of injuries within the Indian senior cricket team. According to the report of Cricbuzz, head coach Rahul Dravid advised Patel to move to NCA in Bengaluru after multiple injured players are undergoing rehabilitation at the facility.
Key Indian players like KL Rahul, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Suryakumar Yadav all suffered injuries during the time period of the back-to-back home series against West Indies and Sri Lanka.
BCCI has officially invited applications for the physiotherapist position which also puts Patel’s move into context. The BCCI has also invited applications for a senior physiotherapist at the NCA and for the Indian senior women’s team along with the assistant physios for the Day-Night Test against Sri Lanka.
Currently, the Indian national senior men’s team has two physios – Nitin Patel and Yogesh Parmar. The BCCI is yet to officially announce a replacement for the vacated trainer post by Nick Webb.
