Shakib wants break from International Cricket

Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh asks Bangladesh Cricket Board for a break from international cricket .Shakib said he is physically and mentally exhausted and is unable to take part in competitive cricket right now . Shakib is one of the greatest all-rounders across formats.

His participation in international cricket has been cut short due to workload management.

He has took break from many series since the 2017 .

Shakib was phenomenal in the 2019 World Cup scoring 606 runs and picking up 11 wickets.

Thereafter, he was handed over a one-year suspension from October 2019 to October

“I have spoken with Papon (Nazmul Hasan – BCB president) and agreed to play, and that is why I was in the team. After the Afghanistan series, I have given it a deep thought because it’s immaterial whether I am doing well or not because if I cannot enjoy then that is worrying. Then I am also depriving my teammates,” Shakib said.

“The mental and physical condition that I am in right now, it is not possible for me to play international cricket. If I get a break and get back the interest then it will be easy for me to play cricket. In the Afghanistan series, I was feeling like a passenger and I don’t want to be like that,” Shakib added.
