Kolkata Knight Riders’ opening pair again failed to deliver as Venkatesh Iyer opened with Rahane but Iyer lost his wicket to Marco Jansen scoring just 7 runs. Nitish Rana showed the aggressive intent in his short innings of 26 runs in just 16 balls including 3 maximums and a boundary. Sam Billings did a solid job in the middle to anchor the innings scoring 34 runs but again Andre ‘THE GIANT’ Russell steaks the show for KKR as he scored 49 runs in just 28 deliveries scoring 3 maximums in the final over of Washington Sundar. Umran Malik grabbed 3 wickets for Hyderabad.

While Chasing, Hyderabad’s skipper Kane Williamson’s struggle continued as he lost his wicket at a score of just 9 runs to Russell. Abhishek Sharma scored a brilliant 43 in 28 deliveries and Aiden Markram scored 32 in 25 balls in the middle but no other batter except these two delivered to change the momentum of the game in favor of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Russell did his job in the bowling department as well as he grabbed 3 wickets for KKR as Hyderabad scored 123/8 by end of 20 overs.
